Time

These days are long days.
Full of grey skies and warm, summer rain.
Striped barn-cats roam around the empty house.
The stone bird bath overflows.
Dogs plop down and sigh,
methodically licking themselves.
Pools of sunlight fall
into gardens surrounded in stone.
All this life lazily slips by
from one second
into the next.
